Some helpful information to get you on two wheels

If you’re new to motorcycles, the UK laws about what motorcycle test you need to pass in order to ride different motorbikes can seem complicated. But don’t worry, we will take you through the steps you need to take to get on your way.

which motorcycle licence is right for you?

AGE 17+

Compulsory basic training (CBT) is the first step of your journey.

CBT

A valid CBT certificate will allow you to ride a 125cc motorcycle or scooter with L plates, it’s valid for 2 years.

A1 licence

An A1 licence would allow you to ride a 125cc motorcycle or scooter without L plates and won’t expire after 2 years.

AGE 19-23

Have you already had an A2 licence for 2 years?

No

A2 Licence

An A2 licence would allow you ride any bike up to 35kW.

If you’ve already had an A2 licence for 2 years, you can work towards getting your A licence.

AGE 24+

A licence

At age 24 and above, you can train towards getting your category A motorcycle licence, allowing you to ride any motorcycle of any size or power within the Kawasaki range. Choose from a 125cc machine all the way up to the largest capacicity sports bikes and everything inbetween. You will be able to ride without L plates, carry a passenger and ride on motorways.
